Watermark Country Club is in the heart of Cascade, not far from Grand Rapids, Ada, and the surrounding suburbs. Watermark was originally designed by Ira Dustin and Lester Johnson (nicknamed “Hickory”) in 1958 and called Hickory Hills. In the mid-1980s, Mark DeVries designed the layout to expand Hickory Hills to the south and east. The course went through a few name changes over time until it landed on its current name, Watermark Country Club. In 1997, Raymond Hearn was hired to redesign the course again which led to a renovation at that time.

In 2022, after determining it was too difficult, the course underwent another renovation that modernized it and made it more playable. Each nine has a distinctive feel and blends together for a unique and challenging 18 holes. The course is a mixture of challenging tee shots, fairways, and undulating greens that will challenge all levels of golfers. The renovations have received great reviews from our members and guests.

The course ranges from 6,777 yards to 5,224 yards and has tees to allow all golfers to enjoy the round. Well-groomed fairways and greens have been the standard at Watermark Country Club for many years, and our greens have consistently been some of the best conditioned greens in the area. The course is also very walkable for those that like to get some exercise while they are golfing. Our practice facility has all the options for members and guests to improve your game, with long and short game areas available.
