Hole #2, a short downhill par 3 has befuddled many players with it's swirling breezes and ridged green. Tee shots short and right may find the almond shaped green side bunker, which can make for a tough up and down for par. Tee shots hit long and right have a good chance of finding the water that's located only a few yards past the bunker on the right. The green is large and receptive to most shots, but any shot that is left beyond the pin will most likely have a quick, downhill putt coming back.
Hole #5, unlike most facilities, our number one handicap hole is a par 5. This hole lives up to the number one handicap it has been given, with trouble awaiting every swing. With water down the left, and trees lining the right, hitting the ball straight is a must here. With a large water hazard just right of the fairway about 230 yards off the tee, driver is only an option for the long hitters. Long drives aren't always rewarded here though because of the large oak tree located in the left center of the fairway only 130 yards from the green. This green has many ridges and is very deep so any shot left significantly short of the hole can be easily three, or even four putted.
Hole #12, The hole of unlimited options. This hole is the shortest of all of the par 4's at Watermark playing only 324 yards from the back tees, but it's not necessarily the easiest. Hole #12 has a sharp dogleg left at about 150 yards, so a long to mid-iron is ideal off the tee... for the conservative players. For the players who like to play a little riskier, a high driver or three wood could get them to the heavily guarded green in one shot. With trees lining the hole, and water protecting both sides of the green, nothing short of a perfect tee shot will get you on the green in one here. The green is a large oval shaped, two-tiered green that slopes from back to front.
Hole #16 is the longest hole on the golf course measuring 561 yards in length from the back tees. The tee shot here is a downhill shot to a wide fairway. The shorter hitters won't have to worry about the hazard on the left side that cuts in about 280 yards off of the tee, but the longer hitters will need to play something down the right center of the fairway in order to stay out of trouble. This green is reachable in two, but not by everyone. Most second shots are trouble free because the fairway opens up significantly 200 yards from the green. Right and short of the green is a large bunker that can draw some awkward lies if the ball comes to rest in it. The green is a large, multi-level green that can cause many golfers problems if they don't get the ball close to the hole on their approach shots.
